The 1990s: renewal and internationalisation
Thanks to a great effort in technical renewal, staff training, investment in new machinery, research and development of new constructive systems, COMSA incorporated elements such as the Fast Track Renewal Train (TRT), unique in Spain, new tamping machines, renewal gantries, ballast cleaning machines, belt trains for removing debris, electric welding and even locomotives for its work trains. We are permanently seeking the latest technological advances to optimise performance and offer the greatest quality for each task.
The internationalisation process was also started, founding the company Fergrupo in Portugal.

In Spain, the nineties were marked by the AVE (high-speed train), the EXPO and the Olympic Games. Some examples of the work done during these years are the construction of the various sections of the AVE track between Madrid and Seville and of the EUROMED, new underground lines in Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao and Valencia, the new Valencia Tramway or the permanent maintenance of the AVE and EUROMED lines, guaranteeing the required levels of quality.
The constructions carried out in Barcelona, for the 1992 Olympic Games, went from improving the roadways and opening the city to the sea, to the creation of new areas that housed the athletes. New sporting facilities were also built, such as the Palau Sant Jordi, or the remodelling of the Sant Jordi swimming pool, in the Olympic Ring.
