The conviction
of the need for the companies in the Society to be involved has led
us to the commitment to re-invest in it. Thus, in addition to providing
the greatest value through our activities, we try to support, as far
as possible, interesting projects that are close to our area and sector.
In July 1999, with this firm commitment, the Fundación Miarnau
was created (recorded in the Registry of Foundations of the Generalitat
de Catalunya), the object of which is:
- to foster and promote activities related to the economic, social,
scientific and educational world.
- to develop activities relating to the study and research into
the importance of engineering, construction, transport and energy,
and the creation of infrastructures to improve the quality of life,
paying special attention to the environmental aspects at the service
of economic, social and cultural cohesion.
Within the context of social wellbeing, the GRUPO COMSA promotes,
through the Fundación Miarnau, solidarity altruism, through
support to various social aid projects.
The Foundation also pays special attention to culture, supporting
projects related to music, the theatre and the plastic arts.
In addition, since 2002, GRUPO COMSA has been one of the member companies
of The Global Compact, promoted by the General Secretary of the United
Nations, Kofi Annan, thus fulfilling its commitment to promoting and
respecting the universal principles in the area of human rights, work
regulations and the protection of the environment.
